Thursday 11th June (1.30pm - 4.30pm): Primary Swimming Gala at the Life Centre
Woodford send two teams (each including 4 boys and 4 girls) of year 5/6 children to take part in a variety of swimming events.  Eight other schools will attend this event which is organised by Plymouth Leander.
 
 
Tuesday 28th April (10am - 12pm): Dodgeball Festival at Hele's
Year 4/5/6 members of our KS2 Multi-Skills Club will attend this festival at Hele's.
 
 
Monday 27th April (2pm - 3.30pm): Girls Football Festival at Hele's
Our year 5/6 girls football club will attend the friendly festival at Hele's
 
 
Wednesday 22nd April (10.30am - 12.30pm): Primary Football at Goals
5 children will attend this festival, targeting newcomers to football.


Thursday 19th March (2pm - 4pm): Year 3/4 Multi-skills festival at Ridgeway
12 children from 3/4 will represent Woodford at the Plympton Multi-Skills event.


Monday 2nd March (6.45 - 8,00pm): Devonport Royal Swimming Association Annual Schools Gala
Four different Woodford teams of year 5 and 6 children will compete in 4 x 25m races at the Devonport RSA event at the Life Centre


Wednesday 11th February (1.30pm - 3.30pm): Bronze Ambassador Training at Notre Dame
Our Bronze Ambassadors, from year 5/6, will take part in another session, focussing on how to implement their training in Woodford.


Tuesday 10th February (4pm - 5pm): Ridgeway Football Tournament
Woodford will again take three teams to the second Plympton tournament of the year at Ridgeway School.  We will compete against the other schools that have had Mike Axworthy in coaching them.


Thursday 5th February (11am - 2.30pm) - Indoor Rowing Championships at Plymstock
Two teams of year 6 children will compete at the Indoor Rowing Championships at Plymstock School.  Nearly 300 children are expected at the event!


Wednesday 28th January (9.30am - 2.30pm): Goals Football Tournament
The school football team will take part in the final stages of this city-wide tournament.


Tuesday 27th January (9.30am - 2.30pm): Goals Football Tournament
 

The school football team will take part in the group stages of this city-wide tournament.


Monday 8th December - Thursday 11th December (9am - 1pm): Bikeability
Year 6 will participate in the Bikeability course.  The Cycling Proficiency instructors will come to Woodford to deliver the sessions in small groups, in the playground and on the roads.  The children will aim to earn their Level 2 badge.


Friday 28th November (3,30pm - 5pm): High-5 Netball at Hele's
Two squads of 8 children from 5/6 netball club will compete in this Plympton-family event.


Monday 17th November (4pm - 6pm): Indoor Athletics Level 2 Competition at Hele's
12 children (6 boys and 6 girls) from year 5/6 will have the opportunity to attend the indoor athletics competition at Hele's against the other schools from the Hele's and Ridgeway Partnerships.  Children will compete in a variety of events including relay races, long jump and speed jump and an obstacle course.


Tuesday 4th November (9am - 3pm): Indoor Rowing
Kevin Sellar will spend the day coaching our year 6 children in preparation for the Indoor Rowing Championshaips in February.


Thursday 23rd October (12.30pm - 3.30pm): Plymouth Cross Country at Staddiscombe
12 children (6 boys and 6 girls) from 5/6 will compete in the Plymouth Cross Country Championships at Staddiscombe.  The approximate distance for this years' event will be 1500m.



Monday 20th October (3.45pm - 6pm): Ridgeway Football Tournament
Woodford will take three teams to this Plympton tournament at Ridgeway School to compete against the other schools that have had Mike Axworthy in coaching them.


Wednesday 15th October (4pm - 5.15pm): Cross Country warm-up at Eggbuckland
The last warm-up event for the 12 children from 5/6 who have been taking part in running club and will compete in the Plymouth Cross Country Championships.


Monday 13th October (3.30pm - 4.30pm): Plympton Cross Country at Hele's
Members of year 5/6 running club will take part in the Plympton Cross Country at Hele's.


Friday 10th October (12pm - 4pm): Kwik Sticks Level 2 Hockey at Brickfields
10 children from year 5/6 can represent Woodford at this event at Brickfields.


Thursday 2nd October (4pm - 5.15pm): Cross Country warm-up at Coombe Dean
The first warm-up event for the 12 children from 5/6 who have been taking part in running club and will compete in the Plymouth Cross Country Championships.



Monday 22nd September (1pm - 3pm): Bronze Ambassador Conference
20 Children from year 5/6 will attend the Bronze Ambassador Conference at the Life Centre, which will be attended by Baroness Sue Campbell, Olympic GB Diving Manager Andy Banks, and Olympians Tonya Couch and Sarah Barrow. The children will aim to achieve the Bronze Ambassador Award in Sports Leadership, which, amongst other things, will enable them to plan, organise and run intra-school sports competitions.


Tuesday 16th September (3.45pm - 5pm): Netball at Tor Bridge High
10 children from 5/6 will have the opportunity to enjoy some netball coaching and take part in some competitive games at Tor Bridge High.  This will be a great opportunity for children who are interested in joining our netball club and taking part in the High 5 tournament at Marjons later in the year.
