Children and young people, aged 5 - 18, need to do:
- At least 1 hour of moderate physical activity every day.
- 1 hour of intensive physical activity at least 3 days in every week.
Moderate physical activity includes:
- Walking to school
- Playing in the playground
- Riding a scooter
- Skateboarding
- Rollerblading
- Walking the dog
- Cycling
Intensive physical activity includes:
- Football
- Swimming
- Rugby
- Martial arts, such as karate
- Energetic dancing
- Gymnastics
- Running
Intensive physical activity is important for developing muscle strength and bone strength.
